Advisory Services

Helping Engineer the conversations necessary for an organizations success.

The quote above represents a core value of Impact4Results and this is especially true in any advisory services. An outside resource can help your organization identify the strategic conversations necessary for your success. That same resource can help facilitate those conversations in a dynamic and engaging way.

Most importantly, that resource can help make sure the team keeps con track with their commitments and goals. Impact4Results advisory services are structured to help any organization accomplish all three.

The following are just a few real case scenarios.

How to ignite deeper conversation in an executive forum?

An executive forum of business unit leaders would meet regularly to discuss cross business topics and issues. The meetings had become rote and less inspiring. Impact4Results interviewed the key stakeholders, formulated a new approach, and facilitated those meetings. This provided the benefit of an outside perspective and was able to share insights on what was being discussed, offer guidance on focusing the conversations, and ensure there was actionable outcome.

How to change strategic planning from death by PowerPoint to strategic engagement?

The annual strategic planning meetings at a large company had become “Death by PowerPoint” where each person presented business results and strategies for the year ahead. Unfortunately it resulted in little discussion or engagement from others. By restructuring the meeting, including changing the preparation process, the meetings became much more engaged, interactive and strategic. Instead of a series of report outs, it turned into a much more strategic meeting that created cross functional connection, engagement, and action because it had less PowerPoint and more real discussion about the business, where they were going, and how they were going to get there.

How to make sure the organization is ready for growth and retirements?

A large organization needed to develop succession plans for key executives including the talent pool of high potentials.  This is not an uncommon challenge.  Some estimates suggest that nearly half of all organizations lack a succession plan.  Impact4Results worked with the key executives and stake holders to identify core competencies, create talent assessment tools, prepare professional development plans and document succession strategies. This also included emergency succession plans. Today that organization continues to use that framework to develop talent so that in the event of a need, they have developed that talent to fill that need.

How to engage a large group in a strategic transformation?

In a large functional group of over 300 people, the leaders wanted a strategic focus where all team members could provide input as well as solicit a broad base of support for moving the transformational strategy forward.  Impact4Results develop an approach where top leaders identified key strategic focus areas for the organization. Then these areas were presented to the broader organization. Through a series of very dynamic conversational huddles, every member of the organization had the opportunity to discuss each focus area, provide input and even offer to volunteer for an area for which they had particular interest.  Discussion leaders presented the input to the entire organization and even chartered working groups to begin moving things forward.

Over the course of several months, Impact4Results worked with teams of leaders throughout the organization to not only move these strategies forward but also develop new business skills that support these initiatives as well as skills they could apply to their day to day jobs. This process provided a guided approach for flushing out and defining the strategies, building a business case, communicating compelling messages, determining positive influence strategies, defining implementation strategies, applying change management skills, even preparing to present in a board room ready fashion.

How to have deeper better performance discussions?

Like many organizations, the performance management process doesn’t necessary result in the best performance management outcomes.  A Fortune 500 sized company was implementing a new system both procedurally and using technology for tracking. Underlying that process was also a need to help all participants in the process have regular discussions and to prepare both givers and receivers of feedback to have those conversations. Impact4Results created a custom tool set and easily assessable job aids to help everyone engage in better discussions and outcomes throughout the year.

How to become a true trusted advisor in a business practice?

A large organization has a team that works with business units to conduct reviews and audits. The problem is that those engagements could be seen as threatening or punitive.  To help those business partners engage in a different way, Impact4Results developed the Trusted Advisor Program, to provide a new and different way to engage with internal stakeholders and help reshape those engagements.
